I.B.P.O.E. of W.’s Frederick Allen Elks Lodge #609 and Mary A. Carter Temple #362, the two oldest black civic organizations in Saratoga Springs, NY, along with Our Lodge Foundation, are recognizing Black History Month with an opportunity for people to share readings from banned books by authors of Color or books that have been banned for calling out racism. Anyone is welcome to participate by reading a short passage from a banned book and giving the reason why the book was or is banned. Details here.
Note: This event is not sponsored by the League of Women Voters, but we include it in our calendar because we believe it will be of interest to our members.
