Community Conversation: Would You Vote for the Equal Rights Amendment?

Take part in an engaging community conversation that will have you step into the shoes of women’s rights advocates as they worked to secure the passage of the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA). Why was the ERA proposed? Why was it controversial?

Would you have voted for or against ratification of the ERA if you were a state legislator at the time?

Participants will discuss and debate these important questions based on readings from the Case Method Project of the Harvard Business School with the goal of creating rich discussions exploring critical moments in the women’s right movement. Links to readings will be sent to program registrants in advance.

Thomas Bryson, Schuylerville High School teacher of U.S. History and Government and Syracuse University Project Advance Adjunct Instructor- PST 101, will lead the discussion online via the Zoom meeting platform.

Co-sponsored by the Saratoga Springs Public Library. Registration is required. Please register at this link: https://sspl.libcal.com/event/8148881 Once you register, you will be sent a link to readings so you can prepare for this discussion. In addition, you will receive a Zoom link to log in to the program.
