National Voter Registration Day is a holiday celebrated on the fourth Tuesday of every September. Its goal is to focus attention on the importance of registering to vote.
Check back closer to this date for more information about the voter registration training we offer volunteers ahead of National Voter Registration Day, as well as the locations around Saratoga County where we will be registering voters on this date.
Last year, the Saratoga County League registered voters at 16 different locations all over the county! Seventy league members, decked out in white shirts, buttons and LWV Suffragist sashes, spoke to over 650 people on National Voter Registration Day. Our favorite story from the day: At the hospital, a man being rolled by on a gurney, sat up and said “I need to register to vote” and took a registration form.
