We need LWV marchers, dressed in white, in the parade. Marchers should gather by 9:50 in Glens Falls City Park. MORNING 10am-12:30pm: AAUW Equal Pay March & Brunch
Join the Adirondack AAUW and the Celebrating Suffrage Committee for a Women's Equality march on Glen Street from l0 -ll am between the Rotary and Bay Street. Get into the spirit with costume if you like! Be creative with your signs - there is a sign contest that will be judged by Mayor Hall and Supervisor Strough! The AAUW is hosting a brunch following the march at the Queensbury Hotel. Cost for the brunch is $28.75. More information about brunch or to make reservations. AAUW is also hosting an afternoon program at the Hyde Collection with speaker Carolyn Stefanko, President of the College of St. Rose. She will be speaking at 1:00 about the history of women's suffrage. Cost is $10.
AFTERNOON 1:00-3:00 pm: Celebrating the Women who Envisioned Women's Equality Day
Chapman Museum, 348 Glen Street
Celebrate the women who envisioned the annual Equality Day in 1971 and look forward with us to the passage of the E.R.A. and a federal holiday for Women's Equality Day! Vintage clothing is encouraged but not required. This event is FREE and will feature re-enactments, storyteller Kate Dudding, music, and displays. Two area Girl Scout troops will be here - one troop presenting their work on women's "dress codes," and another troop presenting a Suffrage badge workshop for all area girl scouts.
